Founder and product editor

Dmitriy Lomonos builds retirement tools that explain the numbers clearly.

I am building Clear Nest Egg as an independent product and content project for Americans approaching retirement. My focus is turning complicated U.S. retirement, tax, Social Security, and healthcare rules into useful calculators, visual examples, and questions people can actually understand.

Why I started Clear Nest Egg

Retirement decisions are rarely isolated. Social Security timing affects withdrawals. Withdrawals affect taxes. Retiring before 65 changes healthcare. A move to another state can change one part of the plan without automatically improving the whole life around it.

I became interested in the U.S. retirement and tax landscape because these connected decisions are often explained through dense rules, disconnected calculators, or sales-driven recommendations. Clear Nest Egg is an attempt to build something calmer: educational tools that show assumptions, cite current sources, and make tradeoffs visible.

What I work on

  • Interactive retirement calculators grounded in a deterministic calculation engine.
  • Plain-English guides based on the IRS, Social Security Administration, Medicare, CMS, Department of Labor, and state agencies.
  • Visual retirement reports that connect savings, spending, taxes, healthcare, and two-spouse decisions.
  • Careful AI assistance that explains approved results but does not invent financial numbers.

How the content is created

I approach this work as a product builder and developing retirement content creator—not as a financial adviser, CPA, attorney, or government representative. Important numerical claims are checked against primary sources, calculation examples disclose their assumptions, and time-sensitive pages display when their rules were last reviewed.

The goal is not to tell a reader what to do. It is to help someone understand the decision, test a personal scenario, and arrive at a conversation with better questions.

Follow the project

The Clear Nest Egg YouTube, Facebook, and X channels extend the project beyond the website and provide a consistent place to follow new calculators, guides, and visual walkthroughs.
